It’s time for some dog therapy. This Sunday’s Coffee (Outside) comes by request and this is a good one. Meet at the picnic tables just north of the dog enclosure at Columbia Park. We will post up outside of the fence because food and bikes and general chaos. No need to overstimulate the pups. Do keep in mind that while most dogs I’ve met sign a blanket “pet me” consent form at birth, their owners have given no such consent and if you choose to interact with a dog, you should definitely check with their owner first. Coffee (Outside) at The Briar (13th & Washington) Sunday 10am. It’s probably not gonna look like this picture of Maggie by the time 10am rolls around, but don’t let that stop you! Or do let it stop you. The roads are likely to be dangerous and no one should feel like they need to go out in this. Yoga at 9am is CANCELED. RECO WILL BE CLOSED. In the meantime… The Briar has been an important member of the community since its inception just a few years ago. But they have stepped up in the past few weeks with patrol organizing, community dinners, and resource distribution. Thank you, Briar for everything you do for Northeast. This week’s Coffee (Outside) represents our first time away from Central Ave since Metro Surge began. ICE is likely to remain a strong presence in Mpls for years, but they’ve struggled to operate on Central Ave because the strong presence of our neighbors. Thank you, Northeast. There’s plenty of reason to stick with businesses that need support in the wake of the ICE harassment. Also, The Briar has good coffee and it the loveliest of Third Spaces. 😉 (But may also not be open because of the snow.)
