🚨 giveaway alert 🚨 riders on this week’s dirt ride will be entered into raffle to receive free entry to the Wirth on Wednesday we will be hosting on July 8 It’s dirt ride time! We’ll hit a few trails at Theo then make our way over south to end at @woodenshipbrew 🚢 Your lead is @ne.anders.thal and your sweep is @matthewbossart Dirt Ride Basics: This ride will depart @behindbarsbicycleshop Shop at 6 p.m. on Thursday (208 13th Ave. NE) This ride will end at @woodenshipbrew (3300 W 44th St.). Please note that dirt rides will have a variety of start and end points this year! Each week we will put a link to the route in our bio. These are NO-DROP rides. We ride as a group and nobody gets left behind. Dirt rides will include technical portions, please ride a mountain bike or a gravel bike that you feel comfortable handling on mountain bike trails. Please check the route details each week to see if the ride is right for you, your bike, and your fitness level. Bring the following: Helmet, lights, lock, water, & cash to tip. All participants must be kind and respectful both on and off the bike. Follow the rules of the road, give space to other trail users, and do not ride in a risky manner. Respect others’ identities, pronouns, personal space, and more. Sexist, racist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, and ableist language/behavior won’t be tolerated.

In 2023, handup racing established a dirt fund to support trans and nonbinary cyclists who would like to participate in dirt cycling races (cyclocross, gravel, mountain biking). Past years, the dirt fund has covered bikepacking races, cyclocross races, and entries to SSCXWC. If you identify as trans or nonbinary and are interested in participating in a dirt race this season, please apply! Money from the dirt fund can be used to cover race entry fees or race-related expenses purchased from Behind Bars Bicycle Shop. If you’re interested in supporting the dirt fund, the best way to do that is to attend our annual bikepacking trip, but if you’d like to contribute and can’t make that trip, please reach out to us.
