Bring your silliest bike that you can hit some dirt on, whether that be a 26er, a singlespeed bike, a fixed dirt capable bike, the world is your oyster. Handup traveled to Wisconsin this weekend to participate in the Wausau 24 Hour mountain bike race. Our team had seven riders competing in the 24 Hour and 12 Hour team categories. In between laps, our riders enjoyed socializing and connecting with other racers from across the region. One of the highlights was seeing such a huge contingent of racers from Minneapolis – running into friends on course or just recognizing a familiar face or jersey in the middle of the night was a huge morale boost for our racers. \n\nIt’s easy to see why this event has established itself as one of the most popular and longest running mountain bike races in the Midwest – almost everyone we spoke to was a repeat racer, and everyone on the Handup crew is already scheming and looking forward to next year!

Join us for an epic bikepacking adventure, our 2026 Handup Bikepacking Trip! We will be heading west to Lake Zumbra at Carver Park. \n\n🔗 in bio, deets below \n\n📍We will meet at Behind Bars bicycle shop at 9:30 AM on Saturday August 22nd and roll out at 10 AM. End-point is the group camp sites at Lake Zumbra at Carver Park Reserve. A group will ride back to Minneapolis on Sunday at 11 AM, but feel free to stay longer and enjoy the MTB trails, or alt routes back. \n\n🚲 ~25 miles each way of relatively flat bike path. A mix of pavement and finely crushed limestone - any type of bike will work for these trails.\n\n🍔 You are responsible for feeding yourself. Pack your own sack lunch for Saturday! We will have a couple designated stopping areas where you’ll have time to eat a prepacked sandwich, but not enough time for a sit-down meal. Similar to years past, a group will be going to a dinner spot nearby (Excelsior or similar) for refreshments/dinner on Saturday night. Otherwise, bring your camping stove, cook over the fire, or just eat a bunch of PB&Js!\n\n🍻 Beer and NA beverages will be provided! Feel free to bring your own beverages as well.\n\n💨 We will be rolling at a casual pace of 8-12 MPH. If you feel like cranking up the pace and making it a spicy bikepacking ride, you are free to push ahead of the group unsupported.\n\n🎒 We will be providing gear transport to and from the campsite for items you cannot fit on your bike. We will only have one car so please limit gear transport to one bag, but please let us know if you need additional support.
