Thursday night social rides are back! Our first ride of the year will weave on new bike paths along the river, turning around at the 694 bridge and ending at 56 Brewing. \n\nYour lead is @jefftorney and your sweep is @boneyjamz \n\nSocial Ride Basics:\nSocial series rides will depart @behindbarsbicycleshop Shop at 6 p.m. on Thursdays (208 13th Ave. NE)\nThis ride will end at @56brewing around 8pm (3055 NE Columbia Ave). Please note that social rides will have a variety of end points this year! Each week we will put a link to the route in our bio. \n\nThese are NO-DROP rides. We ride as a group and nobody gets left behind. Rolling pace for social rides will be 10-12 MPH. Please check the route details each week to see if the ride is right for you, your bike, and your fitness level.\n\nBring the following: Helmet, lights, lock, water, & cash to tip.\n\nAll participants must be kind and respectful both on and off the bike. Follow the rules of the road, give space to other trail users, and do not ride in a risky manner. Respect others’ identities, pronouns, personal space, and more. Sexist, racist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, and ableist language/behavior won’t be tolerated.

Dustin joins us as our second new addition this year, bringing rad dad vibes and major hauling capacity. \n\nPronouns - he/him\n\nYour favorite types of riding - Bikepacking and touring, urban and commuting, cargo hauling and grocery getting - pretty much anything where I’m using a bike to get myself and my stuff from where I am to where I need to be. Also gravel races are a ton of fun!\n\nTeam-related goal for this year - Make friends and ride bikes with them. Also see how some big rides feel. 150 miles? Two Hundo? 242?\n\nFun fact - In 2022 I started taking a picture crossing the Mississippi pointed towards downtown on every bike commute to work from the N 42nd Ave/Camden bridge . At this point I have over 400 photos of the view down the river (and no idea what I’m going to do with them).\n\nWelcome, Dustin! Here’s to another year of river pics.

This past Saturday we joined thousands of cyclists in Minneapolis in memoriam of Alex Pretti, a cyclist and ICU nurse killed by ICE. This was one of hundreds of rides across the world standing against the violence that ICE continues to enact across our city. \n\nThank you to all of those taking to the streets to memorialize one of our own. Continue to look out for one another. We’re stronger together. \n\nThank you to @angrycatfish for organizing this ride, and for @behindbarsbicycleshop and @andyanastigmat for organizing a ride over to the start from Behind Bars (with over 100 riders!).
