The last winter adventure ride takes us through various parks in North Minneapolis, before cruising by Crystal Lake and ending at Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative. There, you can enjoy food, games, and of course beer. The route is entirely paved, and with the recent warm-up should be relatively snow-free. But as always, watch out for snow and ice. Distance is 13 miles and pace will hover around 13 mph. This is a no-drop ride.

Hey folks, for those of us in here that do the MS 150 Andy Klein with the Real Estate Riders and I are looking for 5 volunteers to help out with a mini Strike Down MS Event on January 15th at Concord Lanes in South St Paul with Andy’s Thurs night bowling league.
We’re looking for around 5 volunteers to help with selling raffle tickets/ checking in the bowlers at the beginning of the night,will have 3 stations with 1-2 volunteers to hand out strike prizes each time a bowler that's participating gets a strike or if they pick up a slpit, they will receive a $1 pull tab that night.
All volunteers will get 2 drink tickets, and Andy will order some pizza to share,and $150 to go towards there fundraising efforts for the 2026 ms bike ride.

The next winter adventure ride takes us through North Minneapolis before hitting the off-road mountain bike trails of Theodore Wirth Park, and ending at my favorite brewery, Utepils. A food truck will be serving burgers onsite.
We will meet at 4 PM @behindbarsbicycleshop and leave at 4:10 sharp. Come early for any last-minute purchases. Pace will be around 10mph. This is a no-drop ride, meaning we will stay together as a group. Once we're on the mountain bike trails, we will wait at major junctions so that folks can regroup.
Wide tires (2 inches or more) are strongly recommended for this ride. With a stiff breeze and temperatures dropping into the single digits Fahrenheit, staying comfortable will be a challenge. And with the recent warm weather, the trails may be too soft. In either case, the route will be adjusted to suit the conditions. Expect to be outside for about 3 hours.

The 3rd Annual @behindbarsbicycleshop Winter Solstice Light Ride was impressively attended for such a bitter cold night with raw winds. We had the Stone Arch Bridge to ourselves practically, a rare occasion, which made for the now expected 'Andy photo-op' group shot a must. Ended at @modistbrewing and enjoyed pizza from across the street @bricksworthbeer .Congratulations to Britta @brittamaeerickson for winning the $50 gift card in our best decorated bike contest this year. 25 Hours in Frog Hollow: Nov. 8-9, Virgin, UT
My first time riding in Utah, second of these 24(+) hour races this year, and first time in the area since well over half my life ago. Beautiful, hypnotic, desolate country. Weird-ass local legends whose stories beg to be told (look up Old Crackfoot and Flying Monkey Mesa). My federal coworker teammates and I clung to this weekend as a bright spot at the seeming end of the tunnel otherwise known as the Longest Government Shutdown in History. But crawling in my tent the night before the race, I was slammed with the germs I thought I’d been keeping at bay that week. Bad timing. As a solid mid-pack finisher on a good day, I wanted to do my best for my team, but I knew my time on course was going to prove challenging with how I was feeling.
I slotted into the team’s second lap of the day. I wasn’t able to preride the whole course, so I was pleased to only make a 😮 face when spotting a photographer and riding a drop blind at the same time. The course itself was power-heavy, with a lot of double track, sandy conditions, and seemingly endless gradual climbs. Not the funnest 13-mile circuit, but a solid course for a long race. The miles of downhill following the climb included the aforementioned drop and a chonky ledgy series of steps descending into a twisty sandy wash. There were just enough technical features sprinkled throughout the course to keep my interest and act as markers for what would otherwise have been an endless series of turns amongst desert scrubland. Not sure what racing I’ll do in 2026, though I’m quickly approaching master’s 😵💫…

I thought road biking was bad ass until @lostinmpls @_bettynuggs and their team from @midwestdirtlegion took us on a mountain bike adventure through the woods.
MTB biking was a challenge. But the clinics that lead us to it prepared us for the turns, stump riding, and adrenaline that comes from riding between narrow trees at 15mph! Lol
It was so damn fun. MTB actually forces you to get up out your saddle and be interactive with your bike the whole ride. Your engaging core, obliques is surfing, and legs are feeling the strength in your stance.
The best part about MTB is the scenery. You’re deep in the woods and you don’t have the distraction of pulling out your phone because you have to ride safe. I wish I could show you what we saw and give you the feel of what we went through via screen. Next time proper cameras will be there for sure.
@lostinmpls thank you and your team so much for coming out with patience, personality, and full of knowledge of this amazing sport. We see your passion and it’s so inspiring what you do for yourself and others. Yall are so bad ass and I speak for us all when I say we can’t wait to do this again.
