One of our cub members and board member, Faith was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer on March 2nd. Invasive Ductal Carcinoma / Estrogen Positive / Progesterone Positive / HER2+\n\nShe had surgery on March 24th and as she prepares to begin an intense treatment plan in the coming weeks, including 12 weeks of chemotherapy, 3 1/2 weeks of radiation, and a year of immunotherapy, we’re rallying around her with a 19 mile fundraising ride on April 18th to help support her.\n\nFaith is insured. However, out-of-pocket costs for breast cancer treatment in the USA are substantial. \n\nFaith has been a bright light and an important part of our EZ Bike Club family since she joined. Instagram is a very paralyzing world for me and I try to just use it now only when it seems necessary. So I’m popping on here to promote this go fund me my close friends/comrades and I have started to hopefully lay out more infrastructure for sustainable community aid. Link in bio :-)\n\nAs our neighbors continue to protect each other from ICE and state violence, the other cracks and failures of our city leadership continue to grow and show their true colors. Many have not been able to work and pay rent, and many houseless or not are in desperate need of more prominent and consistent aid. \n\nThese funds will be used to directly grow our systems of aid here for our neighbors and comrades. We have been working in a multitude of ways to aid our most vulnerable neighbors including splitting and distributing firewood, patrolling for ICE and police, tuning up and distributing bikes, doing food and supply deliveries, and whatever small asks or rides come in between. While we’ve strived to find as many free resources as possible, many of our vehicles and supplies need maintenance as well as there’s a growing need for more communal vehicles and chainsaws as our network grows. Fort Snelling holds a grim past of the once Dakota internment camp of 1862 where thousands of Dakota and Lakota were torn from families and forced by the U.S. government to leave the land, many lives were stolen in the process.
