I met @jordanhamiltonart a few years ago. Raequan ( @bicyclegenius ) had hit us up for a ride & what started out as training turned into a whole art adventure.\n\nFor most of the miles we ridden, I had no idea Jordan was an artist, a well known one at that! So before we wrapped up of course we had to stop & see one of his pieces in the community.\n\nI cycle & drive across Olsen Memorial all the time & somehow I never noticed the art on the bridge over 94. Not once. If I was walking, then yea I would’ve. Have you? Check it out!\n\nHis piece is part of a larger installation. The John Biggers Seed Project honoring the legacy of Dr. John T. Biggers and his North Minneapolis mural “Celebration of Life.” The whole installation tells a story: A seed growing into a tree, fulfilling its purpose through adversity… guided, supported, & rooted in community.\n\nAnd honestly… his work spoke to me.\n\nI’ve always loved art, & I’ve been wanting meaningful pieces in my home. What first pulled me in was the color. It matched my couch, my space, my whole vibe. I knew I wanted one. \n\nHe told me that the turtle moving through the twists & turns of the river represents building strength & character through life’s challenges.\n\nAnd this past year? Whew chile… It challenged me in ways I didn’t expect. One of the hardest I’ve ever faced.\n\nBut I’ve learned so much & now, I’m in my reconstruction season.\n\nThe Sankofa bird in the painting represents reaching back pulling wisdom & lessons from the past to build a better present & future.\n\nAnd that’s exactly where I’m at right now.\n\nI’ve had his piece sitting under my bed for way too long. Now it’s finally on my wall.\n\nThis painting speaks life. It’s my affirmation. A reminder of the strength within me, & no matter what I face, giving up ain’t an option.\n\nEvery part of me is needed.\nEvery part of me matters.\nAnd every challenge is making me better.\n\nThat’s what I love about biking. You never know who you’ll meet or what they might place in your life that stays with you forever. I’ve crossed paths with a lot of incredible people, but Jordan is truly one of my favorites.\n\nA beautiful art ride now lives in my home ✨💕\n\n#bikelife #bikingwithbaddies

Tonight I attended Take Space, hosted by @lululemon with their beautiful guides Hope & @kianapaulson . This was an evening dedicated to giving Black leaders their flowers while they can still smell them. 🌺💐🌸\n\nThe conservatory was filled with so many beautiful people doing real work to uplift communities, create safe spaces, and lead with purpose every single day. So many people are quietly pouring into their communities, creating spaces of healing, connection, and belonging. Being invited into a space that intentionally celebrates Black excellence, impact, and community care felt so affirming 💖\n\nI met new people, shared meaningful moments, and simply enjoyed being surrounded by people I love in real life! I was smiling from ear to ear. My first yoga class and take space event was with @hey.yo.gabssss . So all of this just feels full circle. I could go on and on about who is meaningful to me because I truly feel so many people have been a touch of an angel in my life for different reasons. \n\nMoments like this remind me why I create spaces too. Through yoga, sensual yoga, and even hosting bike rides, my goal has always been to give people a place to feel free… to try something new or reconnect with the joy they once felt. That impact brings me so much joy, and I know I’ve made a good imprint in people’s lives. I give and is surrounded by so much love ❤️ \n\nGrateful to be seen. Grateful to witness others being celebrated. Grateful for spaces that remind us our work is meaningful.\n\nFlowers should be given while people are still blooming. 🌱🌷\n\nHere’s a few pics I gotten while here 🥰 & tagged below are some folks I did/didn’t get a picture with but it was love on sight!! & others who deserve their flowers too that’s wasn’t there.
