Traveling the Luce Line State Trail is a great introduction for those who want to try some longer miles mixing tarmac and gravel. Enjoy the flat countryside route out for some lunch in Watertown, approximately 32 miles from Behind Bars Bicycle Shop. Choose lunch at La Catrina Restaurante & Bar @lacatrinawatertown or grab food from the grocery next door for a picnic. We'll spend about an hour to an hour and a half for lunch then return to Northeast Minneapolis. Pace will be above average from 14-18mph. No drop ride. Yes, we'll being showing up a lil late but they're open until 11pm or 10pm most nights so you can always get a lil climb in after work!\n\nAs far as the ride is concerned, we'll be doing a short little river ramble, with (maybe too many) short stops to show off some of @deep_huff's favorite sunset spots in our own little corner of MPLS. \n\nThink about those little paths off to the side of the trail you've always been curious about!\n\nMeet at @behindbarsbicycleshop @ 7pm, rolling out at ~7:20, planning on being at MBP by 8-8:20. \n\nThere's also @pryesbrewing next door, and plenty of maybe new-to-you Mississippi spots to hang out at otherwise!\n\nNo matter what, enjoy your bike, yourself, your hobby, and your neighbors (except that one). \n\nWe hope to see you on Friday!

Join us at @behindbarsbicycleshop for a caravan ride down to the annual May Day festivities at Powderhorn Park! Shop ambassador Robin @robofet leading. We will depart the shop at 11:15 AM for a leisurely ride down to the Grease Pit Bike Shop. From there, you can find a spot to view the parade, and enjoy everything May Day has to offer. It's the perfect way to kick off summer, make new friends, and reconnect with old ones after the long winter.\n\nStart at Behind Bars Bicycle Shop, 208 13th Ave NE.\nMeet at 11 AM, depart at 11:15.\nDistance: 5 miles.\nPace: 10 to 15 mph.\nNo Drop (we will stay together as a group).\nEnd at the Grease Pit Bike Shop, 2750 Bloomington Ave.\n\nThe parade will start at the Grease Pit, go down Bloomington Ave, and end at the park.\nAfter the parade will be the Tree of Life Ceremony, viewable from a hill on the west side of Powderhorn Lake.\nPeople will gather in the park for music, dancing, and picnicking.\nThere will be a block party at Reverie, 1517 E 35th St.\nThe day will close with a punk rock show at the Grease Pit.\n\nBring a helmet, bike lock, water bottle, food, and sun protection.\nWater and bathrooms will be at the Powderhorn recreation center.\n\nVisit maydaympls.org for more info.\n\nRules of the Ride:\n- Respect other road and trail users. Give space and an audible signal when passing.\n- Communicate with your fellow riders. Call out obstacles, turns, and other trail users. Use audible and visual signals.\n- Respect each other. No racist, homophobic, transphobic, or disrespectful behavior allowed.\n- Be prepared. Bring a helmet, lock, lights, and a spare inner tube. Ambassadors will be available for minor repairs, but you should have a backup plan in case of major issues (e.g. public transit).
