The route is about 6 miles long, entirely along the river on protected bikeways, and includes a brand-new dance spot.\n\nFEATURED DJs:\n\nHailing from Austin, TX, DJ Eve, aka Evilynda, has rocked Minneapolis for over 20 years as one of the first female EDM DJs in the Twin Cities. From the Lounge’s legendary dance nights to wild gigs at Sound Bar in Chicago, Coco Bongo in Cancun, and a rave with Deadmau5 on the Salt Flats, her sets are anything but boring. She’s also the brains behind Afterhours by Eve, a label dedicated to making musical magic and discovering fresh talent. When she’s not spinning beats, she’s leveling up in MMORPGs. Event: Bikepacking and Bonfire\nWhen: September 26\nLocation: Utepils → Rockford, MN → Utepils \nLimit: 50 people\n\nCome join us for the fourth annual-ish Utepils Bikepacking and Bonfire out at Graham's place! Folks who want to bikepack will leave from Utepils in the morning, ride out to the farm (with a little pit stop), hang for the night, then bike back to the brewery the next morning. Mountain bikers will meet at the Bertram Lakes Singletrack Trailhead to ride for a couple hours then go meet everyone back at the farm. In the evening we'll have Big Bore BBQ with vegetarian options, beer, a big ol fire, and fun times. There's plenty of room for tents, hammocks, and campers, and all are welcome to drop things off the day/night before if that's helpful. We’ll be riding Pastry Pace along Minnehaha, then north on beautiful Bryant Ave. This one-way group ride is about 7 miles. In honor of the Black Walnut name, we may even point at some lovely trees along the way!\n\nBlack Walnut, being as popular and wonderful and bustling as it is, will have some foot traffic! For this reason, we’ll post up on the sidewalk area on the side of the building before/after popping in for orders - There likely won’t be tables available inside! This spicy ride will trend a little slower than our others, around 15mph rolling pace, with enough mileage to still work up an appetite. 🌭☄️ \n\nYour lead is @mn_rando and your sweep is @dhrubywytt \n\nSpicy Ride Basics:\nThis ride will depart @behindbarsbicycleshop Shop at 6 p.m. on Thursdays (208 13th Ave. NE)\nThis ride will end at @meteor_mpls (2027 N 2nd St). Please note that rides will have a variety of end points this year! Each week we will put a link to the route in our bio. \n\nRolling pace for this ride is ~15mph. Our spicy rides are no-drop (the lead will wait for the group if separated) and we will have multiple team members available to sweep, but the routes are constructed for easy turnarounds if you end up feeling a little milder that night. Please take a look at the route, suggested bike and target rolling pace before attending. \n\nBring the following: Helmet, lights, lock, water, & cash to tip.\n\nAll participants must be kind and respectful both on and off the bike. MCF State Crit Championship\n\nP4 in the 3/4 + Masters race for Cat 4 racers this is my best place yet! I was asleep 45 minutes before the start, bought a Red Bull on the way over (I'm very sensitive to caffeine), rode the course once to \"warm up,\" and just sent it. I felt this year that crits weren't the type of riding I needed for my goals, but friends convinced me to come out for the last one. I've got to say, I had more fun than I thought I would and set my fastest 10 miles at 21:07 and the fastest average speed I've ever done, I think, at 27.5 mph. We were moving! I had also already had 190+ miles in my legs for the week, so that was very fun and impressive to myself. I'm getting faster! I definitely will be back next year. I started with the front group for about 10 miles, then slowly crept back as it was too fast for me. I found a group of about 5 that worked well until mile 40, then it was just two of us for a bit. At one point, I was pulling and out of the saddle, and the guy behind me said, \"Take it easy, we're doing 320 watts and only going 12 mph.\" That gravel was peanut butter, stealing speed. At mile 50, my light died, so I spent another 3-ish hours in complete darkness, hoping I didn't hit anything. But the moon had the road lit up like a nightlight it was very peaceful, honestly. I finished my first century before the sun came up. I impressed myself with that and then got to my first checkpoint. The morale boost of seeing my teammates and friends was what I needed. At about mile 150, I was starting to fade a bit. My legs felt good, but I was by myself by this time and really had to push myself to stay at speed. I made multiple friends on the course—no talking, just pedaling. A couple of highlights from 150 to 200: I asked to be hosed down at a random lady's house, and she was like, \"Sure, I got you.\" The well water was cold but nice. Also, seeing the GDG crew out there and just the people that live on the course being so nice when you ride by looking absolutely exhausted. I had a rough time with some foot pain but was able to overcome it and finish strong, pulling in with a time of 17 hours, 1 minute, 19 seconds, which is faster than last year, which was my main goal. But also, overall, I got 36th place. That is literally insane! I can't believe I was capable of pulling off a result like that from my first year, taking 23 hours and getting 2nd to last.
